The "Blue Mosque" is justifiably a favorite of the tourists like me - it's big and it's stunningly beautiful. It takes a while to get in - the lines are long but they move quickly as there's no one at the door collecting money or credit card slips. Everyone has to take their shoes off and carry them. The mosque is called something else in Turkish, but tourists name the mosque after the huge area of blue tiles decorating the walls. There are plenty of other colours too, but the blue tiles and the name is what have stuck.

There's not a lot of structure inside - it's just a large empty space where believers can pray. About half the floor space is cordoned off for the faithful; they have a separate entrance and a much shorter queue.
